Technical information about the site’s accessibility
The College of Policing is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
The website and its associated content is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.
How accessible the website is
Some parts of the website are not accessible for the following reasons:
- some videos may not have captions
Content that's outside of the scope of the regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any new PDFs we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Video and audio
The accessibility regulations do not apply to any audio or video recorded and published before 23 September 2020. Any new video and audio we publish on our site will meet accessibility standards.
How we tested the website
The site was tested in April 2022 with web accessibility evaluation tools such as WAVE and Lighthouse. A further test and accessibility report will be produced by an external accredited provider.
What we’re doing to improve accessibility
- Some links are missing ‘aria label’ attributes
- The hierarchy of headings is being corrected
- Reviewing PDFs
- We are adding transcriptions to audio and video content where it doesn’t already exist to make this content more accessible
