This is the third in our new series of five webinars delivered by Samaritans. In this session you will learn about why individuals self harm and how you can best support them.
Samaritans webinar: Self harm
This webinar is the third in a series of five webinars we are delivering in partnership with Samaritans. These sessions investigate some challenging subjects including self harm and suicide, which we recognise will be difficult for some. We are committed to supporting the mental health of everyone working in UK policing and hope that by openly talking about these subjects we can help to raise awareness, reduce stigma and give you the tools to sensitively manage any connected issues locally.
What you will learn:
- The link between emotional health and self-harm.
- Consider why someone may self-harm.
- Supporting someone who self-harms.
- Self-harm as a risk factor for suicide.
- More about how the Samaritans can support you.
